is different than mine right now.  Find out what you can influence and test your boundries. It can only happen immediately though. Now. It's the only job we have, to expand our sphere of influence purposefully.  And every transition is proof of your sphere of influence.

Who's the Boss of You?

After working with young people for 20 years, inside the classroom and out, I have learned a basic human truth.

We all have the innate drive to 'captain our ship' (I borrowed that from a poem and a recent interview I watched on bulletproof.com). Whether or not we confess to it, or even realize it ourselves, we humans have an internal mantra:

Who is the ONLY person that is going to tell me to JUMP? ME

And how high am I going to jump? EXACTLY AS HIGH AS I WANT!

And who is going to stop me? NOBODY!!

In my humble opinion, this is the crux of all conflict. Period. More on this later, as it unfolds in my brain.
